DETAILS OF 2022 RALLIES

 

APRIL 14 - 21   MOUNT FARM PARK,

BATCHELORS LANE, RATLEY, BANBURY.   POST CODE: OX15 6DW (Easter)

This is a new site for us and is an idyllic location for a quiet countryside escape.

It is surrounded by incredible scenery with absolute tranquillity throughout. It is a

working farm so plenty to do if wanted. There are two fantastic historical pubs

within about 1/2 mile of the site that serve great food daily. There are many

walking trails for all ages and abilities. The site is situated next to a village green

which has a safe and quiet children's play area. Just a short drive away are

Banbury, Stratford on Avon , Warwick and Leamington Spa.

Route: From Swindon take the A419 toward Cirencester. Take the A429 to Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Halford. After Halford take the B4455 (Fosse Way). After 0.2mls turn right onto B4451. In 1.7mls turn right onto Banbury Rd for approx 5.3mls then bear left onto Banbury and the Oxford Canal. In 1.3mls turn right onto Old Road then in 320yds turn left into Batchelors Lane.    Look for SCCC signs

 

Rally Fee: £ 18.50 per night incl. electric.  £30 non returnable deposit with slip, balance due by MARCH 14th

APRIL 28 - MAY 9  MONKTON WYLD FARM CARAVAN AND CAMPING PARK,

CHARMOUTH, DORSET. DT6 6DB (May Bank Holiday)

This Camping and Caravan Club site straddles the Devon/Dorset

border. It is 3 miles from Charmouth and the Historic Harbour of

Lyme Regis which is the centre of the World Heritage Jurassic

Coastline. There is a small shop. The site is clean and well run.

The rally field slightly sloping and not level as on their web site.

Route: From A303 exit at Ilminster and take the A358 through

Chard to Axminster. At Axminster take the A35 towards Charmouth (sp. Dorchester). In 2.5 miles, just past the county border sign, turn left at the brown tourism leisure sign. Site is 300 yards on the left. 

WARNING  The holiday park is about 1 mile west of Monkton Wyld. IGNORE ANY SIGNPOSTS TO THE VILLAGE OF

 

MONKTON WYLD has the roads are steep, narrow and unsuitable for caravans.      Look for SCCC Signs.

Rally Fee: £17 . 50 per night incl. electric. A £30.00 non refundable deposit is required with your rally slip and the balance by March 28th

D-Day Remembrance Rally. (6th June)

This is a new site for us and is only approx 45 mins drive from

the Caen Ferry Port. It is an English family run campsite situated

in the village of St Martin des Besaces, Calvados.

 

The owners, Steve and Dawn, offer all visitors a warm friendly

welcome and endeavour to make your visit to Normandy as

enjoyable and memorable as possible. The site is perfectly situated for exploring the picturesque countryside, tasting renowned cheeses, sampling sparkling cider and of course the famous Calvados.

 

To the North are the D-Day landing beaches and Bayeau with its famous tapestry. To the South is the pretty and historic village of Domfront. To the East in Suisse Normand (little Switzerland) is Clecy with a miniature railway and the river Orne for canoeing and fishing. To the West is the breathtaking Mont St Michel and the beaches along the Contentin shoreline. Within the village is a museum dedicated to the liberation of the Bocade region also nearby bungee jumping.

Rally Fee: £20.00 per night including 10 amp electric. A non refundable deposit of £30.00 with rally slip and BALANCE BY MAY 1st. Bookings will not be accepted without a deposit. Bookings can be for any length of stay.

 

Please arrange own ferry crossings.

 JULY 13 - 18TH  ROYAL INTERNATIONAL AIR TATTOO,

RAF FAIRFORD.  POST CODE GL7 4DY.   LIMIT 60 units.

We visit this site again this year for the Royal International Air Tattoo.

This is the biggest air show in the world, so book early to avoid

disappointment. We have again extended the rally which now starts on

Wednesday until Monday. This will give the added opportunity of seeing

some of those aircraft that are on display actually flying into the show.

This year we have free access to a bar at Townsend Farm campsite

over the weekend and there will be a small shop and takeaway

available. 

The fee was increased last year for the first time in 13 years. This year

is as 2021 at £16 per night.

 

Route: From Lechlade take the A417 towards Cirencester. Turn left at the Shell Garage, sp Welford. Once in the village turn sharp left into Townsend Farm. 

Look for SCCC signs

Rally Fee: £16.00 per unit per night. No electric. Own toilet required.

 

A non refundable deposit of £15.00 is required with rally slip and full payment required by June 15.  

NO BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A DEPOSIT.  NO ARRIVALS ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY. 

PLEASE NOTE - CHEQUES TO BE SENT WITH APPLICATION AS NORMAL BUT WILL NOT BE CASHED UNTIL RAIT FAIRFORD HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE AIR SHOW WILL GO AHEAD.

Due to Covid considerations we are not currently planning to have 

refreshments prior to the meeting.  The meeting will be run with

everybody's safety in mind.  Please consider if there is any chance of

you being infectious before attending the meeting.  Of course, we will

review the Covid situation closer to the time.

Guidelines

PHONECALLS - No calls to any committee member after 9pm please.

RALLY SLIPS & CHEQUES - Rally slips and cheques to be sent to the Rally Officer at the above address. All cheques to be made payable to SCCC. You can telephone to book rallies but these must be supported by a rally slip to be valid. Those rallies requiring deposits should be booked in the normal way using a rally slip. You should familiarise yourselves with all the Association Rules in the Rally Book, (see pages 5 to 9.)

VISITORS -  Adults 18 years and older wishing to stay in another members unit overnight on any Swindon Rally must be paid up members of the British Leyland  Association. A fee of £1.00 per person per night will be charged plus any charges made by the site.

 

HOLIDAY RALLIES - Unless stated otherwise a £30.00 per week non-refundable deposit is required when booking Holiday Rallies (long or short) and full payment is required no later than 1 month prior to the start of the rally.  Any balance not received by the due date will result in loss of the holiday with no refund of deposit. Bookings without deposits will not be accepted.

 

WEEKEND RALLIES - Weekend Rallies commence at 5pm on Friday. All slips must be received at least 14 days prior to the rally commencement date. It may well be possible to arrive early but please check with the Rally Officer or Marshall first. No arrivals prior to the Rally Marshalls unless agreed with the Marshalls as the rally will commence when the first unit (whoever that may be) arrives on site and will finish 5 x 24hrs later. Cheques will not be accepted on weekend rallies. Payment must be in cash only and paid on arrival.

 

LIMITED RALLIES -  Booking is essential. Please remember to cancel if you are unable to attend in order to free up spaces.

 

NOISE - No noise after 11.00pm on all rallies except where stated otherwise.

 

PETS - Where dogs are allowed they must be always kept on leads or tethered at all times.

 

CHILDREN - Parents are requested to keep their children under control on all rallies.

 

ADDITIONAL TENT - One small pup tent only is allowed per unit unless specified otherwise.

 

PERSONAL GENERATORS - Personal generators are not to be used between 7pm and 10am, other than for medical reasons, and not left unattended, and must be used with consideration for others. Please inform the Rally Officer or Marshals prior to the rally if a generator will be used.

 

SMOKING - No smoking or using e-cigarettes or vape pens in any buildings.
